About Us
HOW WE GOT STARTED
Sunset Vettes was originally founded in 2010 by a growing number of Corvette owners in our area that were seeking a club where the main 'goal' was to have fun together and enjoy our common love of Corvettes. We wanted a relaxed atmosphere where people could participate at their own comfort level. The only club rule is there are no rules. The people and great times we share keep us all coming together for more good times. The members of our Club love our motto that was shown on the banner at the Corvette Museum in 2013……..”cruise for ice cream”……………….
Our meetings are the second Monday of the month at a local eatery. Please check our Event Calendar page for details.
WHAT WE DO
We love to cruise, host mystery dinner rides, and of course, get together for ice cream. The club currently has about 50 members and holds an annual Awards Dinner and Banquet every January to recognize our members and events during the year. We attend many car shows and parades throughout the year. We host our own 'free' Corvette show and contribute donations throughout the year to local charities, animal shelters, food banks, missions, first responders, disaster response teams, and other organizations.
Affiliations
Our club has two main affiliations:
Sunset Vettes is a proud member and enthusiastic supporter of the National Corvette Museum. As a club, we usually make several trips to the museum each year. There folks can enjoy touring the museum, some sporty back road drives, great restaurants, or head on over to the NCM Motorsports Park to participate in driving courses, touring laps, or maybe drive their high speed go-kart track for fun.
Sunset Vettes also has a great and longstanding relationship with Preston Hood Chevrolet. Each year Preston Hood hosts our annual 'Celebration of Corvette' all Corvette car show on their new car lot. Preston Hood provides numerous door prizes and a special grand prize.
